Mastery Learning
Mastery Learning is an instructional process that is based on organized instructional activities. By providing students with routine feedback on their learning progress, and offering guidance and direction, our students become more successful in learning and are better able to apply themselves to higher level thinking skills.
Inquiry Based
ICS uses an Inquiry Based approach to learning. This approach involves a process of exploration that leads to the asking of questions and making discoveries in the search for new understandings by the students. Inquiry Based Learning diminishes the practice of "listening to learn" by the students in favor of questioning and investigation to obtain answers and knowledge.
Activity Approach
The Activity Approach to Learning is designed in that the students are engaged in activities related to the concepts being studied. These activities are used to introduce, apply, or extend the concepts using a kinesthetic style of learning. By using this approach the students manipulate their environment by placing emphasis on problem solving, critical thinking, communication, and making connections.
