Educational Philosophies

Students need to have a thorough understanding in the core subject areas at a mastery level in order to succeed at higher levels of inquiry. By ensuring that students have a solid grasp of the fundamental principles being studied the students are then able to begin an in-depth inquiry of subjects with the developmentally appropriate tools needed to be successful.

Based on this philosophy the students graduating from ICS are better able to make the transition into higher education with a sound understanding of what it means to be a learner equipped with the knowledge, skills, strategies, and confidence to be successful.

Successful students are confident learners who are able to endeavor in a variety of areas with the attitude necessary to confront new areas of discovery. With the learning attributes acquired at ICS our students will be better able to meet the challenges that await them in our diverse and competitive world.
