Field Trips

The International Community School has routine out-of-classroom experiences that provide exciting learning opportunities for students to enhance their knowledge and extend the curriculum. These experiences help students expand personal growth as well as subject knowledge. The field trips will generally be within walking distance of the school.

Trips to the City Park to conduct scientific field studies during the year is a common endeavor that allows the students actively engage in a scientific process using the scientific method first-hand.

Field trips to the Library are also done on a regular basis to help hone the students’ skills to research information. This skill, in addition to researching on the internet, provides a well-rounded strategy in acquiring information from a variety of sources.

Students at the ICS also visit community organizations determine their purpose and to inquire of their necessity in a community. In this way, the students at ICS are able to conclude for themselves the relationship between a community and the organization that are needed for a community to function.

ICS is authorized by the U.S. Department of State to enroll non-immigrant alien students
